GPS user's last words: "I need to contact someone who can teach me how to operate this GPS, so I can give the latitude and longitude coordinates, which is the only way that people on the ground can know where I am."

The Weekend

  • Jul. 5th, 2008 at 3:25 AM
It's here, yay. Have a good weekend F-list, and be safe.

I thought this was funny.

Last July I asked my dad why people say "Happy July 4th" instead of "Happy Independence Day"? Dad said every day in America is Independence Day, because we integrate independence into our identity so deeply that we can't imagine acting specifically independently on a particular day.

I think people say July 4th because "Independence Day" has two more syllables.

Okay, I'm done thinking. Off to work out and buy groceries and eat food off my friend's grill. Woot!

Give good date.

Dudes: Show up on time. Pay for everything. In cash. Let her be funny. Laugh at her jokes.

Ladies: Show up on time. Offer to split the bill. Insist on paying the tip. In cash. Be funny.

Not Those Bastards

OMG, when I read that Marion Hossa signed with the fuggin red wings I about shit a puck. To make matters worse I pulled up my favorites list and clicked on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette site and read the article about the signing. Here are couple of the quoted gems from Hossa himself.....

"When I looked at it, I wanted to have the best chance to win the Stanley Cup, and I felt Detroit is that team," he said in an evening conference call from somewhere in Europe. "I knew I could get more somewhere else. But of all the teams I could choose from, at the top there were two teams [Detroit and Pittsburgh], and at the end of the day I had to make a decision, and I felt best about Detroit.

"Pittsburgh has a great team, great people, great organization. I had to compare the two teams, and there's a little better chance to win the Cup in Detroit. I had a great time with Sid and playing on the power play with Geno [Evgeni Malkin], but the team in Detroit is something special. I know it's a short term, but we never talked about a one-year [deal] with Pittsburgh. We just talked about a long-term deal. I totally believe Detroit has the kind of team that can win it again."

O_O Dude WTF! They may seem special but it's Detroit, you can get murdered for sneezing the wrong way. These people burn down buildings for fun around Halloween and whenever else they get bored. More people smoke crack in Detroit (ok, this might be a lie ;) than other cities. I'd would love to say I hate Hossa for signing with the wings but I can't he's a great talent but daaaaammmmnnnnn. Malone...gone. Hossa...gone. At least the Pens signed Orpy (Brooks Orpik) to a six year deal. My only hope is that when next the Pens and Wings meet, Orpik smashes someone through the boards and if it just so happens that the person getting smashed is one Marion Hossa, I can picture having a big ol smile on my face. That's not being hateful. HAGO AATR

We finally got around to having our first airsoft battle today and it was a straight up adrenaline rush. In the back of your mind, your wondering what getting hit with a plastic .20 mm plastic bb will feel like coming out of at least four guns firing at 350 fps (feet per second) then after the first hit you kind of know. We played about eight matches most of which were of the capture the flag variety. I got knocked out of five matches and only received one welt which came from a less than ten foot shot while bunkering down. Everybody had a great time and I haven't had that much fun in an activity in I don't know how long. It felt really good to be doing something other than setting around the house on a weekend. I'm looking forward to more airsofting as time unfolds. HAGO AATR

Who knew? When you set out to go the movies, your hope is that the movie your going to see doesn't suck and with any luck it will be a good 1.5 to 2 hours and change of goodness. Then you have those movies that surprise you and are way better than you even expected. Movie in point.....Wanted. I'm not a big fan of Angelina Jolie but she did a pretty decent job in Wanted. Where the movie absolutely shined was in the special effects and cgi realm. If you liked the original Matrix movie......Wanted stomps the guts out of it. Wanted is easily one of the better movies of the 08 movie going year. Even better, Batman is just around the corner.

We gave the new guns a whirl yesterday after getting back from Atlanta and let me just say that there will be some really impressive firepower tomorrow evening in our 3 verse 3 match up.

The Weekend

  • Jun. 28th, 2008 at 3:14 AM
The weekend needs to start getting the lead out on it's way to visit. Long work weeks suck and when the weekend takes it's sweet ass time showing up it makes it even worse.

Today/Saturday: With the remains of the stimulus check, it's time for another AEG airsoft gun. I have it narrowed down to about three different automatic machine guns. Like most things variety oriented, I'll know it when I see it. I also need to pick up a pistol and a tactical vest for storing extra ammo magazines. The trip to Atlanta should eat up most of today what with being a consumer whore and what not.

Sunday Sunday SUNDAY! OMG, I have to cut the grass. I went stone cold slack on grass cutting so far this summer it's been like three weeks since the last time I hit it. I can knock that out in the mid to late morning then go catch Wanted (the cgi/special effects looks pretty cool) at the movies, then come home and play some Battlefield Bad Company and drink a few beers.

Monday: We're looking to have an airsoft battle toward evening. It will probably be a straight up deathmatch style format unless we have enough for teams then it may end up being a capture the flag match. We shall see. I keep hearing that inner voice saying "You'll shoot your eye out." That's why they give you two eyes. If the first one gets shot out, your still good to go. Actually in all seriousness, I'd never do that sort of thing without having all the safety equipment. And that's a wrap. Have a good weekend F-list and be safe.

I think it would be cool if before DICK Cheney got out of office, he would be doing a press conference and a midget walked up to him and slugged him right in the ol cock. Just a thought. HAGO AATR
